You'll be based in the charming alpine town of Interlaken, set on the shores of Lake Thun, where awe-inspiring scenery surrounds you and a collection of memorable rail journeys begins.
Start with the Lucerne-Interlaken Express to the picturesque city of Lucerne, where you may stroll across the iconic Kapellbrücke, widely regarded as Europe's oldest covered bridge. You'll also travel by train to Switzerland's capital, Bern, to wander the cobbled streets of its UNESCO-listed medieval old town.
The true highlight of your journey is a ride on the legendary Glacier Express. Famously dubbed the "slowest express train in the world," this striking red train offers uninterrupted views of dramatic alpine landscapes unfolding outside your window. As you glide through the Alps, sit back and enjoy a delicious three-course lunch.
Your experience is completed with a cruise on Lake Thun, followed by a scenic sail across Lake Lucerne to Vitznau and an ascent to the summit of Rigi Kulm.

You will need to handle your own luggage throughout the journey, including moving bags through stations, boarding and alighting from trains, on public transport and to your accommodation. Meet at London St Pancras for your Eurostar departure to Paris. In Paris, change stations and connect onwards for a high-speed journey to Basel, where we make our last connection to Interlaken. Check in to the Hotel Crystal for a four-night stay.
Take the scenic Lucerne-Interlaken Express, passing mountain peaks and crystal clear alpine waters before arriving in the beautiful lakeside city of Lucerne. With free time to explore, you may wish to walk across the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe, the Kapellbrücke, or admire the colourful frescoes dotted around the old town.
After time to explore, cruise across the waters of Lake Lucerne to Vitznau to join the mountain train to the summit of Rigi Kulm. Descend by train to Rigi Kaltbad and join the cable car to Weggis, before rejoining the boat back to Lucerne.
The highlight of your time in Switzerland awaits today, as you journey to Chur to join the Glacier Express for a thrilling ride to Brig, taking in the highest part of the route through the Oberalp Pass. Sit back, relax and enjoy a three-course lunch served at your seat as the panoramic train traverses the Alps. On arrival in Brig, disembark the Glacier Express and return to Interlaken.
After breakfast at the hotel, take the train to Switzerland's capital, Bern. Explore the winding streets of its UNESCO listed medieval old town, watch the crystal alpine waters of the Aare River as they meander through, and marvel at the Zytglogge tower with its mesmerising astronomical clock.
After time to explore, head to the charming town of Thun, join a boat and cruise the length of Lake Thun back to Interlaken - seeing lakeside villages nestled along the shoreline.
This evening, enjoy dinner in a local restaurant in Interlaken.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and take the train to Basel, skirting along the shores of Lake Thun. Take the connecting international service to Paris, before joining the Eurostar back to London St Pancras where your holiday concludes.
