Fly from London Heathrow to Pisa. Upon arrival, meet your tour manager and transfer to the four-star Hotel Torretta in Montecatini Terme for your five-night stay. This evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast this morning, you'll embark on a tour of Renaissance Florence. This guided walking tour will focus on the city's main monuments and landmarks. Walk through some of Florence's characteristic streets and squares, including Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Santa Croce or Piazza Santa Maria Novella. Enjoy an exterior visit to the Piazza del Duomo, the monumental complex comprising the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni. Head to Piazza della Signoria, Florence's historic political centre, featuring Palazzo Vecchio and the statues of the Loggia dei Lanzi. You'll also see Ponte Vecchio, the famous medieval bridge spanning the River Arno. Have lunch in Florence (not included) before returning to the hotel to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
The highlight of your stay in Tuscany, today you will enjoy the concert of Andrea Bocelli at the Teatro del Silenzio. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and a leisurely morning. Before leaving for Lajatico, you'll have lunch at the hotel and then transfer to the Teatro del Silenzio. Make your way to your reserved Poltroncina seats for a magical concert. Return to the hotel late this evening after the concert.
After breakfast this morning, today will be spent at leisure, relaxing or exploring at your own pace. Maybe you'll choose to stay in Montecatini Terme and catch the funicular to Montecatini Alto, the medieval upper village perched on a hilltop, or experience its thermal spas. Alternatively, take the train to Pisa (this is not a direct train) to see the famous Leaning Tower.
After breakfast this morning, you'll embark on a tour of Lucca. This guided walking tour will focus on the history, art and main monuments of the city centre. Walk along the tree-lined Renaissance walls before stopping in the medieval square with an external visit to the Cathedral of San Martino (Duomo).
You'll also see the impressive Palazzo Ducale and the Teatro del Giglio, before walking down Lucca's main shopping street, lined with historic buildings, while admiring the city's iconic towers. There's also an optional visit to the Basilica of San Frediano, where you can admire the extraordinary golden mosaic on the façade and the interior of the basilica (not included).
Afterwards, transfer to the Fattoria il Poggio, located at the foot of Montecarlo, for a wine tasting. Sample a minimum of four Tuscan wines, served with oil and bruschetta, vin santo and cantucci. Return to the hotel to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
